The DBSA Peer Leadership Center is a central location for peer specialists and peer supporters to participate in and/or locate education and training opportunities throughout the country.

Center-hosted Online Classes

Individuals who have created an online profile will have access to courses, webinars, and educational videos through the Center’s learning portal. While the number of courses will grow significantly throughout the year, courses currently available are:

  • Peer Specialist and Peer Supporter Continuing Education:
    • Recovery Goal-Setting with Peers–A Three-Part Series
    • Conflict Resolution Webinar
    • Living Successfully with a Mood Disorder
    • Veteran Peers Navigating Moral Paradoxes
    • Employment Literacy

Many of the Center-hosted classes will only be available to individuals who have created a profile. Upon completion of a center-hosted, profile-required class, an individual will be able to download a certificate of completion and a note will be added to the individual’s profile.

*Continuing education credits are approved by the Illinois Certification Board, Inc. for Certified Recovery Support Specialists (CRSS) I or II and other related professions. Course participants may be required to submit their certificate of completion and course outline for approval by their regulatory or certification bodies.

National Calendar of Educational Opportunities

Individuals visiting the DBSA Peer Leadership Center will also have access to an Event calendar providing listings and contact information for peer specialist certification and continuing education trainings as well as a variety of mental health trainings, workshops, webinars, and conferences for peer supporters offered by organizations throughout the country.
